Experience The Sound Of Music at Vivian Beaumont Theatre at Lincoln Center

The Sound Of Music BIO

The Sound of Music is a classic American musical that has captivated audiences since its original Broadway production in 1959. With music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, the story is based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, depicting her journey as a governess who brings joy and music into the lives of a widowed naval officer's seven children amidst the rise of Nazism. The beloved film adaptation starring Julie Andrews further solidified its place in cultural history, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of all time.

This national touring production, part of The Sound of Music National Tour, will be gracing the stage at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre at Lincoln Center in New York on May 9, 2027.
